Using Communication Design to Change Behaviours and Perceptions about Tooth Decay in Young Australians
In what ways can communication design effectively persuade young Australians (aged 18-30) to proactively check for and treat tooth decay?Project Abstract
This is a practice-based project exploring new opportunities to deal with tooth decay in young Australians. It aims to engage young Australians to think about tooth decay and their current behaviours in a different way and to persuade them to have their teeth checked and treated. The design deliverables use illustrated storytelling and are based on the World Oral Health Day 2025 campaign which can be conducted both online and offline. This project can create a practice-based reference to researchers and designers who work in the field of oral health in Australia. Also, it can provide direction to some professional organisations for some oral health campaigns in the future.
