ritual
How can we design immersive narratives?
Project Abstract
ritual; a fixed set of actions and words. design is a ritual, one that continuously redefines the meaning of the word. actions and words exist in a space, and if a space can be deeply embodied by all individuals it can be a place of co-production through facilitation. the designer is not hierarchical to the spectator, but an equal facilitator.
duncombe calls the ethical spectacle is “a dream put on display”; an illusory way to imagine new possibilities for our futures. ritual explores the immersive narrative as the potential manifestation of an collaborative ethical spectacle.
