How to use artificial intelligence to help promote the facial reflex zone theory of TCM?


Project Abstract


“In recent years, the global influence of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has witnessed significant growth, both within China and on an international scale. Also, Chinese medicine scraping tools ranked in the top one on the Australian Amazon platform, which shows that Chinese medicine is becoming more and more popular around the globe. This project aim to use a modern aesthetic to convey the knowledge of TCM’s “reflex zones”. And hope you enjoy that!






Fig. 1 – I'm sure basically everyone has had acne, and people always feel negatives when they have it. It usually feels itchy, painful, and even affects your mood and becomes less confident.

Western medicine: Acne is a chronic infectious disease. But Traditional Chinese medicine "Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine " (Nei Jing for short)《黄帝内经》believes that the appearance of acne means the problem of body's condition. For example, forehead acne represents heart fire(心火旺)，meaning that the heart metabolism is a
bit laborious, high probability of staying up late. And to solve that, it always have Chinese medicine special ways, people could eat some red foods such as jujubes...




Fig. 2 – Reflexology is one of the therapies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It utilizes the relationship between specific external area of the body and internal organ to regulate health. If there are pathological precursors in other parts of the body, there will be unconventional reactions on the face such as acne and darkness. I hope that through my work people can understand this concept and take the initiative to observe themselves to adjust their physical condition. In this way,, people can intervene before the onset of
disease and keep our bodies in a healthy state(TCM concept)
