K-pop design strategy interpretation: towards broader design practiceProject Abstract
The research project focuses on the Kpop strategy, examining its origin and mechanism, how it creates and reinforces connections between idols and fanbases, and how it transforms the process of distributing an album into a conceptually orientated, highly aggregated, and unified experience; and how this strategy could be transposed out of Kpop, to a broader field of design, thereby introducing a new practice to the area. It aims to build the discourse and position of design strategy in Kpop industry, which is a subject that is not yet widely recognised or well known in the design field; it also aims to achieve resonating with other sectors of the design field and with other industries, providing an opportunity to introduce new design approaches and practices.
