Alphabet of Nostalgia — Risograph Poster


Developing an abstract alphabet and risograph poster, I framed my personal response based on elements from Kristyan Sarkis’ practice. I used personal items and mementos I’ve collected over the years to create my letterforms where their physical forms are inexplicably attached to the memory and meaning behind them. Distorting their forms on a scanner and working in one colour generated new forms and made the various objects harmonious within the composition, respectively. The organic forms swirl together, combining objects and text, in a poster that works to contribute to the notion of an abstract alphabet.
