Through the design research I developed a visual system for communicating smell that is based on scientific classifications of people’s perceptions of smell. I developed a set of abstract symbols and use this visual language to express the sense of smell this sensory experiences and designed a website to make people involve in cities through a smell map, reduce the people and the city's sense of alienation, reconnect cities make people in the outbreak, trigger olfactory perception of people in the public space.
